The only thing better than a Turtlebox (Gen2) is two turtleboxes. I had speakers/amp built into my last skiff, and 1 Turtlebox was just as loud. With two, you can pair them together and it's amazing. As others mentioned, they are waterproof plus you can take them with you when you get out (or leave them out if you don't want to bring them).
Actually the only thing better is the sound of nature the outboards and waves slapping the hull oh yeah a screaming drag as well I guess I'm just old there's plenty of time for music later. I have zero against anyone that wants to ride with tunes blurring that just isn't me.

We weren't comparing all sounds in life, only that of "best bluetooth speaker options".

I really like the turtlebox, many people say its pricy but to put a basic stereo system on your boat will cost about the same but the turtle box is portable can be brought up on the beach on this kind of days and used outside of the boat. It can also be used to charge your phone etc. Additionally if you ever sell your boat you take it with you to your next boat.

I don't own a trurtlebox and don't use any bluetooth speakers when I fish, but my son likes to take his portable JBL with him when he goes out.

In my opinion anything that works well that's optional and portable is much better than cutting/drilling holes in your skiff for speakers or whatever else. With as good and as loud as a turtlebox is there would be no reason to install speakers in a skiff, I've seen some small skiffs completely ruined by installing a bunch of speakers when a turtlebox would have been just fine.

I've had a Turtlebox since they pretty much first came out. Now I have 2 gen 2's. When I had my EVOx built, I already had my OG gen 1 TB. To really tune up the sound, download one of the bluetooth music equalizer apps, like Spot EQ. You can adjust the music just like an old school equalizer. @Dobre it makes a big difference. I also turn my TB towards the gunnel and let the bass reverb off the hull. You and also put the TB in a hatch and get a bass boosted sound.

I am very impressed by Turtlebox, but was then way blown away by two of the linked for stereo. And they lasted through the entire 10+ hour day on the boat and then into the night. I thought the sound and bass was great.

I have Sonos portables and they are also really good (Roam and the Move), then pair with my Sonos whole house speakers when I am home. I think there are 12 total Sonos speakers in my house.
