I had the same problem; zippers always crap out well before the rest of the bag. Bought the Plano 3700 Weekender Series and have been really satisfied with it. I don't do a ton of spin fishing so 3 plano boxes is just right for me but I could see it being a little small for others with more stuff. For $35, I'd buy another one of this size before I bought a bigger one. Fits nicely in my front hatch in my Lostmen.

That's what I use for my "travel tackle" when fishing as a guest on another's boat. Really like it too.

I know I am late in my reply but I have to give a very solid review for a bag I just purchased. Like everything fishing, I over analyze and research to the point I use up just about every resource I can. I replaced a Falcon Speed bag (which I liked quite a bit, but the fabric was starting to tear) with a Frogg Toggs soft tackle box and it has been fantastic. I like to be pretty organized on the water, and this bag allows me to do so, it fits in my forward hatch and I can tote it to others' boats when I go that route. I have the 3700 but it "feels" larger than its dimensions suggest, so I would recommend the 3600 size unless you need a ton of space.

The main compartment is huge and I carry 3 3700 trays as well as a soft plastic binder full of plastics, plus two airtight tupperwares for Gulps, all in the main compartment. There are TWO pockets on each side, one small one that I carry leader material in on one side and small tools and bug spray/sunscreen on the other. In the larger pockets, I carry bags of plastics and unopened lures. Then, there is a zippered pocket on the front large enough to carry more lures and the like, and I carry about 10 unopened Gulp packages in there. But wait! There's more storage. On the back, there is a mesh pocket and that's where I carry my Catch Commander scale and Boga.

It's really a bit more than I need but I could easily throw my packable rain jacket and pants in a pocket as well if I didn't want to carry so many lures. So again, probably the 3600 size may have been a better buy. Also, after a year, it still looks brand new and the zippers function great.

I use this thing - it's a BEAST, but man, it's the only thing that holds everything I need AND is convenient when I'm fishing. The only zipper that froze on me in the last 5 or so years is one of the side pockets. I use the crap out of that bag, and it's starting to fall apart, but certainly the best layout and durability of any bag I've ever used. Being able to keep my zmans up top and storage trays in the front is awesome.

Does the compartment for the storage trays come already assembled? This looks like a really nice bag. I ordered one of the AFTCO ones with a similar design, and you had to basically build the interior storage liners yourself with their velcro lined liners. It was such a pain in the ass to get them lined up right and they never seemed secure. I returned it. You can see what I mean in this picture. You can remove those liners...which seems cool in theory but it was not for me.

Anyone find anything, more backpack style? Would be nice to keep the hands free.
I use a Yeti backpack for my fly gear. Definitely not the best bang for the buck, but I imagine any waterproof backpack would be good. I hate lots of pockets ( I end up going thru all of them to find something). I use the 3600 and 3700 size tackle boxes, an open one (for line, leaders, etc), and random containers for other stuff.

Anything like this:

Xelfly Submersipack Waterproof Backpack - Submersible, Inflatable, Floating TPU Coated Durable Nylon Dry Bag with Airtight Zipper for Kayak, Fishing, Boating, Hiking, Paddle Board (Gray Stone, 25L)
