I am looking for an inexpensive, less than $20k, skiff. It seems as if a saltmarsh 1444 or a gheenoe are the options I can find. Are there other ones out there, that I am missing?
So is buying cars and not driving them.. :lolInvesting in stocks is boring tho lol
Let's fire up the flux capacitor and get back there! How much would he have had he invested $225k ($25k x 9) into something like AAPL in 1988?
If you'd invested 225,000 in Apple Inc (AAPL) on January 1, 1988, today the investment would be worth:
73,786,184.21
Annual rate of return: 26.21
Total increase: 32,693.86
Total profit: 73,561,184.21
I highly doubt he didn't have one to drive. Just saying, investing in collectible cars is a hell of a lot more fun than the damn stock market unless you're a stock market nerd or something. So is buying cars and not driving them.. :lol
I get it and agree, this coming from a stock nerd that likes boats, motorcycles and cars... 😄I highly doubt he didn't have one to drive. Just saying, investing in collectible cars is a hell of a lot more fun than the damn stock market unless you're a stock market nerd or something.
There’s one for sale on FB right now for 20k. I’m tempted to snap it up and redo it. Killer tarpon boat.Saw a 2001 Dolphin Super Skiff with a Yamaha 90 2 stroke for sale on FB.
Asking 23k, offer 18-20k, he might take it. Thats a good boat, looks to be in good shape, and you will have it a long time.
Not from a money standpoint , but they definitely do from a noisy hull aspect. And it seems a lot , even the majority, of lower cost boats have chines near the waterline.Meh. Fish don't know what you're sitting in![]()
I wouldn't know, but having 73 million would be pretty fun i thinkInvesting in stocks is boring tho lol
I did look at those. The gheenoe prices jump very fast with just a few options. I don't think I saw a towee 17. I'll re-investigate.Has the OP considered a Towee or Gheenoe? Towee has a new 17 that starts at $16K. Their basic skiff starts at $9,350 without power.

I like that one. Simple, probably stable. I wonder how much, with a poling platform and trolling motor. When will they start building them?
I believe an ankona can be had in that range as well.Very interested in the new Towee, I always thought they were too small but the Sherpa seems to be the ticket for all around inshore fishing. Would like to see the pricing myself.
[edit] Looks like it's gonna be starting at $17k for hull and trailer, so you're gonna be looking at around $22k with a decent motor, not bad actually for a brand new 17ft skiff.
