Wanting to add a casting platform. Leaning towards RTIC 52 Ultralight with turnbuckle tie-downs.
Searched the previous discussions and see a few people have the RTIC ultralights.
I like the reduced weight and bigger internal volume compared to YETI 45.

I don’t keep fish that often, but sometimes some free-range organic fish hits the spot…
A second cooler is nice because, I believe you shouldn’t mix fish and beer in a cooler.

I haven’t seen one in person. Are they pretty solid? (I’m over 6ft and over 200 lbs), so not a “small boy”How are they holding up with extended use as casting platform?

Would also be interested if anyone has rigged up any sort of back/bar on them like the TunnelMaster guys make.

Thanks

That just helps reduce the difficulty of choosing the color pallet for the skiff. Just hope that you don’t need to replace the cooler and they discontinue that color.

I assume the back rest is custom-made?

6'2/215lbs. I have had a RTIC 52 Ultralight on the front of my Spyder FX19 for 4 years, no problems. You can stand on it no problem. It will hold, but I have had the lid give but always rebounds. The lid is not as strong as thick/strong as a Yeti 65 but will work. tiedowns work great also. I got a rod holder for it from coolerworks.com to make it work better for me.
Thanks. Good to know about the lid. I can stand on my igloo, but it flexes enough I think it would eventually cause issues.

I went to the RTIC store. Leaning now towards the 32 instead of the 52. Only 13 pounds, and I have the 72 Igloo already for a big cooler. It’s definitely not as stable with smaller footprint, so would need to secure it well.
