Hi Guys,

How do you remove the spool cap from the spool on a Nautilus CCF-X2 6-8?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply guys ... but I am asking how to remove the spool retention cap from the spool not the frame.

The guys at 239 Flies showed me a good trick for removing the spool from the frame - wrap a rubber band around the spool retention cap and twist. It gives enough grip to get it without tools.

Try tilting it, I looked at my 8/10-10/12 spools and if you tilt it and put a little pressure on it you can see the o-ring and felt like it should just pop off. Smaller size might be more difficult, I did not want to pop it off for fear of damaging the o-ring. Again, give Nautilus a call they should be able to tell you the best method.
Thanks ... I found the bigger CCF-X2s were much easier. I did your tilt trick and they popped off. I will give them a call tomorrow.

Thanks for your help.

Got it ... called Nautilus and they verified just an o-ring was holding it on. Was not coming off with just pulling on it like Nautilus said so I used a brass punch on a corner and popped it off that way. Put the new clickers in and spool retention cap on and good to go.
