Pretty much done with the skiff but I’ll post a few pics a day to drag you guys along as if it’s being built in real time. I don’t have time to sit down and do one giant long post.
It all started when I (on a whim) decided to post my 14 skimmer skiff for sale at a price that I thought was high but I had people fighting over it and it sold pretty much over night.
Called Harry the next day (Jan 9) and told him I had cash and wanted to do a kit, he told me to swing by and we can get it started and it wouldn’t take more than a couple weeks to have a skiff out of the mold for me. After going by the shop and paying full in cash he told me it would be a little while longer until I got my hull, about 4-8 weeks which was completely understandable and not a problem. I left him alone because he is a busy guy and I know how annoying it is to be pestered with updates constantly after you gave someone a timeframe already. I asked for an update about 6 weeks in and he told me to call him. On the phone he told me that the cold weather and turkey hunting had him behind schedule, and now it’ll be ready May 1st. Less understandable but you gotta let the man live a little. Fast forward to April 22 I get the call that the hull is ready but no trailer. I made some phone calls and got a trailer the next day and headed to Sopchoppy to pick it up.

I have nothing but respect for Harry and his company and what he has accomplished in his life and I would buy another skiff from him in the same way.
here it is:

undersides of hatch lids got some gelcoat and made a flat plate of carbon to use for some washers and other small parts. I used a dry erase board from lowes and waxed it. Put plastic over the top and used a scrap piece of mdf with a 5 gallon bucket of paint on top to keep it flat. White sharpie chalk marker works well to draw on carbon by the way

started my secret sticker spot on the fuel tank

Poling platform getting put together. It’ll get another layer of 3/8” core on the top and here is how I secure the top to the legs. 2 6” layers of heavy sleeve in each and then I plug it with chopped strands of carbon and thickened epoxy mix. This joint as well as the feet are what keep it from being wably

Got the little carbon accent plate in place aswell, I’ll replace the washers with carbon too dont stress

DIY’d some eva foam for the platforms and got some clear coat on the poling platform. Prob need another can of it to finish the underside of the poling platform. For the foam pads i put the top of the platforms onto the backside of the foam and traced it then used a micrometer set to the amount of gap I wanted from the edge and marked then cut with a sharp razor blade and then sanded the edges
