Routinely wipe my spinning reels down with Corrosion X as they frequently see the salt. Havent done so on my fly reels they just get a light freshwater rinse and loosen the drag after each use. Take em apart maybe once a year for cleaning/ service. Anyone use Corrosion X on their fly reels? Any harm to fly lines?

I wouldn't recommend Corrosion X for that. Here's what I've been using over the past 8yrs for not only fly line dressing, but a fly reel protectant as well. It's amazing how well it sheds water and protects the reel from corrosion from the salt. For reels, it repeals the saltwater. For fly lines, it has a non-toxic food grade dry silicone that helps the flyline shoot through the guides. I spray it once before I go fish for the day. I will also spray down my spinning reels. It doesn't leave an oily film and it's almost instantly dry to the touch (give it about 15-30seconds). I also spray down my rod guides with it. Just be careful not to douse your drag washers with it. CorrosionX would be unnecessary. In reality, a freshwater rinse is more than enough for a quality anodized aluminum fly reel. If you ever see corrosion on them it is most likely because they were wet when stored in the pouch and never allowed to properly dry.
I wash with fresh water let them dry. Later I spray them with food grade also wipe and dress the line with FG silicone
Friday at 8 am I picked up my friend Al White , "Boca on the Fly" at his house to go fishing. He eas standing on his lawn casting a line across the road and then onto his front lawn and stripping it in. I drove up and asked if he had had any hits. He explained he was using the dew to clean his fly line. Neat idea. AT 79 He's full of em. Today his client got a 120 lb poon on the fly.

I do a freshwater rinse of rods and reels after a day of fishing even I didn't use that a set up particular day, and at least once A week spray with salt away and rinse. On a good day of fishing with lots of shots at fish I will clean flyline at least once on skiff. I use food grade silicone, sprayed on microfiber cloth. I strip all flying out and real it all back on while running through the sprayed cloth. Occasionally I do guides and blank as well.
