Me & my buddy spent hours last night fishing tailing redfish…. unsuccessfully.
The fish were in grass that had so much slime & crap floating on top, you couldn’t strip the fly more than a few inches before it was a complete mess.
I’ve tried to solve this problem before and had reasonable success with a small floating EP Everglades minnow (w/ weed guard etc) but this was so bad the crud would stick to ep fiber head, or roundness of the hook eye.
Anyway, we drove a long way to get to these fish, were pumped when we found them, and after 20 or so good shots we were pulling our hair out.
Any fly suggestions would be appreciated, or just tell me normal people give up on fish in these conditions.
Thanks
