Anchor Recommendations

The family and I have decided to take up some camping this summer and plan on utilizing some of the boat-in campgrounds at local lakes. So, I plan on purchasing an anchor to use in conjunction with my Power Pole. Some spots are pretty sandy, so not a big deal to beach the boat (Ranger Cayman 191), but the primary boat-in we will use is right on the main lake and gets beyond insane with summer boat traffic. As such, I plan on keeping the the boat just off the bank enough to let her float. Do y'all have any soecific recommendations as to which anchor to buy? I am on KY/TN lakes, but will also likely use in SC and FL when we travel. Additionally I fully intend on only buying American made. Thanks for any insight.

Or the economy model Fortress, which is the Guardian series. The G-7 should do. At least 5:1 scope (anchor rode length to depth of water plus height of cleat over water ratio) and maybe use 10’ of chain and a snubber if wakes are a pita.

You’ll want a second anchor inshore to stop the boat from swinging on just one anchor. That can be a sand anchor or shallow water stick anchor.

I have an Original Sea Claw anchor and it's great. However, this one is also made in USA and looks like a cool design. Has anyone here tried the Hurricane Boat Anchor?

Lakes in the piedmont section of north and South Carolina have red clay bottom and it can be super tough to get your anchor to bite in areas that do not have sufficient sand or soft mud over the clay. Heavy danforth with chain works best for me, multiple attempts or setting anchor manually is not uncommon. Anchoring in sand, mud and rocks is child’s play in comparison , Imo. Not familiar with or ever used a Sea Claw anchor. Any one used it on lakes with clay bottoms?
