I just got one of these in the mail, and the lid is warped to the point that I don't think it's sealing. I'm going to return/exchange it, but wondering if any of you guy have experience with these boxes, and if you've noticed warping on the right hand side of the lid as well-- aka am i just going to get another one with the same issue.

The left side has a even 1/8in gap while the right side opens up to 1/4in gap.

I had that happen to a cooler. Yeti was fast in sending a new one with a return label. Put the warped on in the box and called to have it picked up. I forget why it warped. Maybe to much injected foam.

I was looking into maybe grabbing one to keep in my 4Runner with some supplies. When I was looking at the reviews seems that is a common issue. I don't think I will pick one up unless they resolve it.

They are too expensive to not be perfect. I think the best thing to do is to not buy sight unseen. Unfortunately, I bought from yeti.com, and am stuck with whatever i'm shipped.

I like the Yeti Boxes a lot. If you are looking for an alternative, I like my Harbor Freight boxes more. I have three for my boat. One for traditional stuff. One of fly stuff. And one with my camera gear. Water tight and much cheaper.
Are you talking about the pelican style cases from HF? I'm also interested in the new Magellen case at Academy.

Yep, I have the 3800 size and it fits pretty much everything. You could get the larger 4800 size. They go on sale once a month too and it should show up online at the sale price.

Y’all need to check out Nanuk boxes They are very well made and highly rated in testing. They have a superior latch than the others. And are way cheaper than Yetis or Pelican. Which they surpass or equal in quality. And are just a little more than the HF Apache boxes. The HF boxes are definitely good enough though for keeping in a boat hatch. I have one I keep all my safety gear in and my tool roll. And I have a special Nanuk for my first aid.

No problems with mine, fits about everything I need in the skiff neatly and snug. The pockets in the lid and the tray are perfect for keeping stuff organized especially the smaller stuff that tends to get lost in a regular plastic bin.

I started out with a cheap Husky box but that thing was a pain, stuff would just get shuffled around everywhere in it and I'd end up digging through it trying to find something. I didn't want to spend the money on the Yeti at first but I'm glad I got one they are worth it imo.

I really wish it was large enough to hold 3740 plano boxes with the divider in. Looks like it should hold 4-5 3640's tho. I hear there is a redesign in the works, and am debating on just returning this one and holding out for the new version, but I don't have any intel on what the new design might be like.

I just took the divider out and lay 2 plano boxes flat, that's usually enough for me, I try not to bring more tackle than what fits in the box. Altho getting the smaller boxes to fit with the divider in vertically sounds like a good idea.

I love my Load Out box. I've got all my road trip spares in mine, like spare hub, grease, gloves, rags, zip ties, trash bags, extra lug nuts, extra misc boat parts and spares (extra kill switch, extra key, extra engine flush port plug) and so on. I'll get another one.

I'm glad you mentioned this... I love Yeti but having a hard time even at 180ish for that gobox. This thing looks pretty sweet and I think it may hold the larger planos. I have one on order. Will report back. Only downside (i'm just guessing) is the lid doesn't look quite as sturdy and it's not probably as waterproof, but I'm not trying to go swimming with it! 75 bucks at academy. For the price of the yeti you can get one 50L and one 92L of the same model!

There are lots of alternatives to yeti as mentioned here. Another is the Milwaukee pack out boxes with clear tops. I fished with a guide who had one and I think I am going to get one for next season. There are even cheaper imitations of the Milwaukee pack out now made by rigid, ryobi and whoever else. All this stuff is made in China so I have no loyalty to any of them, just choose whatever best suits my needs and is beat deal.

Yeah, I think the loadout box is a great size, but a bit pricey. I know I said i wish it would hold 3740 boxes, but I also realize that would make the box a good bit larger, and I just don't think I want that. I think the loadout with 3600 boxes is going to be a good compromise of form/function without being too cumbersome to move around/store.

Interested in hearing your comparison with the Magellan box

People love to complain about Yeti and there are some good alternatives like Engel, Pelican, etc but I seem to always replace any cheap crap with Yeti eventually.

This morning I spilled coffee in my lap while driving to work because the cheap Walmart tumblr's lid is crap. I looked like I pissed my pants until lunch time. I'm throwing it away when I get home and buying another Yeti. Btw, you can buy just the lids that also fit cheaper Walmart tumblrs and don't come off.

In fact, I may buy that $80 lunchbox and $300 chair too. The wife doesn't like to get rid of stuff so I have 3 crap camping chairs that always seem to end up lying on the boat in the garage.
