I miss my old Boone Spinanas. :'(

That old red and white top water twitch bait raised heck with 'glades snook.

    Re: wodden lures

I thought they were still around. I had a castanacan't remember if it was wood. I picked up a wood spook on ebay the other day

Almost all the new plugs are foam and plastic.
I've had new castanas get snapped in two by toothy predators.
The old wood lures had a different sound when tapped.
They'd keep getting strikes, even after the paint wore off..
That's how you knew which ones to buy again. ;)

    Thanks for posting.

A couple of years ago there was a guy who makes museum-quality wood lures which were absolutely stunning. Lost the contact; anybody know who I am referring to?

BTW, a cedar plug is always somewhere in my offshore spread. Fish love good wood...

At parkway motel and marina in chokoloskee they have some hand made wooden lures. Very pretty work. They all sell for around $20 a piece

These guys have a small place outside of Orlando and have been making wooden plugs, display boxes, etc for quite a while. I recently restocked with a couple of their plugs after the snook and trout had their way with them.

there is a guy on you tube from china or korea that makes wood lures- this video is a must watch! the quality is so amazing you would think it was a real fish when they do a close up pic if it. Hats off to him, a true artist!
