I know it's a shot in the dark, but I figured I'd ask anyway.. If anyone has a freestone in good shape they're willing to part with for a reasonable price, I'm still on the hunt for one.

Are you referring to a drift boat?

The fly reel variety. My bad for not clarifying!

Dude. Buy that. That's a great deal. I paid $400 just for the reel.

Shhh don't tell anyone, but I like the backcountry CL better.

Haha i've been hounding this guy for weeks! He wouldn't split the combo, once I said I would take the combo he wouldn't ship it....now hew wont respond to me. Side note, he said the reel was fished for about a year with the spool cap missing leaving the ball bearings exposed......
But hopefully someone gets it, just butt hurt it inst me :(

Wait. What? What ball bearings? Did he pry the cap off the spool? These are not quick change reels. I'm confused.

The "Dust and waterproof spool end cap" was missing so it would leave the draw bar/spring assembly and ultimately the two sealed ball bearings exposed.

He actually just messaged me and said it has been sold.

No cap on the end for sure I looked at that reel a few months ago when it was on Craigslist. He's located in Naples.

First thing I did when I bought mine was tear it down, clean it, lube it, and put it back together.

Its built the same way as my Everglade and Gulfstream, just on a smaller scale. Bulletproof...
