Does anybody on this forum do white water? Class III?
Do funyaks count?
;D ;D ;D
Haven't been on the river in two years. I was looking for someone who is comfortable with class two / three that already knows the basics like how to roll. My roll sucks but I seem to pull it off when I need to.
This is just like my boat:
Looks Tippy. ;D ;D ;D ;D
You could always refresh your memory here on the Nantahala in NC.
I use Endless River Adventures http://www.endlessriveradventures.com/ less than a mile up the road. Ken Kastorff was one of the pioneers in the sport and in the development of the c to c roll. Ken is an accomplished fly fisherman too. NOC has quite a reputation but they leave you with doubt in your ability - hence more PI time. Bottom line is that it can be a dangerous sport and I trust my life as well as my son's with ERA. ERA is much more on a personal level. I'm hoping to get good enough to do a Costa Rica or Ecuador trip.
The Chatooga in NC is an awesome river. Costa Rica also has awesome whitewater. You sure that kayak will float you? ;D
I don't see myself folding up and fitting inside one of those things. Definitely not a hobby for tall people.
Specially when you can just walk across the river and still have you head above water
where would you put the yetti and camp stove ?
I personally like to be moving faster than the water below me !
Obviously you've never tried it. ;D ;D ;D ;D
FYI, not a problem, especially if your upside down ;D ;D ;D ;D
