My first try at an EP style baitfish. Brushed the fibers out from Bonnie cord.
Any critique is appreciated.

That's funny, because I tied a second one and used less material and I think it'll look better underwater.I would say use less fibers.
I watched Enrico tie one of his peanut butter flies and he was adamant that everyone uses to much fiber.
Great start … I also agree less is best in this fly and most. You want to be able to see through the fibers and and more dense fibers save just to that last tie in at head if fly. Maybe move the eyes a touch back if you see the fly rotating when fishing. My first try at an EP style baitfish. Brushed the fibers out from Bonnie cord.

It’s impossible to have too many of those..When all your snook came from a chartreuse and white ep minnow the day before, you tie more the morning after! LOL it seems I always tie more of what worked the day prior! View attachment 236165
I bought some of the bomb beads and tied a bunch of shrimp flies for bones in Mexico. I have to say I wasn’t that impressed with the results. They work fine but they were not as durable as more traditionally tied patterns that I used. I tied in mono to hold the bomb bead, wrapped over it many times and UV glued that too. Found that to be the weak point and had a couple start to come apart after a few fish. Maybe a different non UV glue would work better?Anyone tying with the Umpqua Bomb Beads? Seems like a cool concept and considering purchasing a few packs for an upcoming Andros trip.
