Veterans Roll Call

Wanted to make a post to see if there’s any other Veterans 🇺🇸 out there. I’ve always dreamed of being a guide who donated some of my time to fishing with other service connected Veterans to help share the healing properties of fishing in the great outdoors. Helping to reestablish a connection with themselves that is based around the solitude and excitement of fishing and adventure.
A quick bit about me I was in the Coast Guard 04-08 serve my whole enlistment in Alaska. I was born and raised there as well spent most of my life on boats fishing or working on boats annd fishing boat after I got out.. But enough about me let’s here about you!

It was it’s definitely chilly… sometimes when we have a cold snap here in Florida we go outside and I tell me son this is what it’s Alaska summers are like hahaha. Glad to not have to deal with that weather or those big seas anymore

USN Airedale from 1980-1988. VQ2 comm/nav tech and in-flight radio operator, then leading petty officer for Aircrew Candidate School at NAS Pensacola. Yes, I was a big, bad drill instructor and we didn't have "timeouts" under my watch. ;) Still keep in touch with members of my flight crew.

Thanks everyone for their service. Not a vet here, but you can donate your time to veteran’s groups (Project Healing Waters, Rivers of Recovery, Wounded Warriors, etc.) without having been a veteran.

Marine Corps 2005-15, Camp Fuji 2008-10 best duty station Corps has to offer and was fortunate enough to visit Iwo Jima and climb Mt. Suribachi. OEF 2011, SPMAGTF-CR 13-14.

Also had the pleasure of running some ranges from Eielson AFB Alaska. Let’s say Marines get used to being cold even this FL boy, but palm sized mosquitoes 🦟 never. We would hide in HMMWVs and they’d black out the window’s waiting patiently 🤣

But to all who serve and have served thank you🙏 Veterans of any period and branch will always be considered family.

Army; enlisted in 1992, commissioned in 1997, and retired in 2018.

I did quite a few things over those 26 years but the most fun was flying AH-64s for about 15 years. 1,497 days deployed for OIF and OEF... I hate the f'ing desert.

All my cool pics are of stuff I saw, not many of me.

Preflight, inflight, presents for Taliban, refuel (notice the old school mapbook... don't need any FMT!, bad weather enroute to a troops in contact, air drop of supplies to our remote location, typcial afgan terrain from a gunpilots perspective when the request for air supprort comes across the radio, and a reminder that the enemy shoots back.
