I have run a jet outboard on a 17' fiberglass boat for years, I am sure mine is much heavier than this aluminum boat. My rig runs very shallow, less than 3 inches, once it is on a plane, and allows me to go into a lot of areas I would only be able to access in an Airboat.

I took this aluminum model on a demo run about a year ago, and it can jump onto a plane in the same depth that it can float in, which I think is about 3 inches! It was "Very Cool".
