hello all, just picked up this skiff with a homemade description in the title. Trying to figure out what mold the hull came out of? Pretty sure it’s not a hewes, but other thoughts were hoog, or maybe something I hunt heard of yet. It’s a 1989 hull. Sharp entry, hard to see in pics but it has strakes on the bottom. Two per side. Any thoughts or info would be appreciated.

Looks like a Hewes.. No HIN?

Pretty sure that's a Hewes. Some photos of the cap showing hatch configuration and forward deck would help.

Yea more pics to come, picking it up today and will have a better camera. There is a hin #. Gotta snap a picture when I see her later. Thanks for the input. We will solve the mystery.

Take the Hin# to the DMV, they should be able to trace its history.

To narrow and wrong deck cap for a Hewes. Looks very much like a Hoog but hard to tell. Miami “repurposed” skiff???

Probably is a Hoog then. I think lappy’s only had one.

This should tell you that it is not homemade. It came out of a mold and someone rehabbed it and called it homemade. Needs a bit of rehabbing again.

My 16'-8" hoog hornet transom had a pocket /pad bottom n angular offsets each side transom. Gas tank was between stringers below the floor. Bow looks like hoog, transom like hewes.
