So this year I was fortunate enough to have received a Turtle Box from a close family friend for Christmas this year. I was already planning on buying one for the boat so it was a major plus. This weekend was the first time I was able to real world test it. I was working the Stuart boat show and I had it playing from 10am to 6pm, it was at a low background volume but sounded great. After 8hours non stop, the five LED light battery indicator was still sitting at “full” at the end of the day. I still need to test out the battery life at a higher volume but so far super happy. I have yet to put it at full volume, 3/4 volume is quite obnoxiously loud.
All in all after using it I would happily pay for one, and highly recommend it to someone looking for some tunes.

I love everything about them except one thing. I bought my first one in February of 2021. In the fall of 2024, it started sounding like crap, muffling and distorting. And of course it was past warranty so I bought another one. They did give me a discount on the new one, but I would really think that for the money, it would last longer but that is Ok. But the 2nd thing is what about disposal. It has a lithium battery right? so I can't just throw that away. So what am I supposed to do with it. It would be great if companies that make products that are harmful for the environment had a buy back program and helped with the disposal.

They'll be coming out with a few new ones this spring I believe, supposed to make it where you can pair them "infinitely" plus a few different sizes. I have two of the Gen 2's and love them. And I'll fork over the money for a new one I'm sure.

Just returned from Texas Musicfest in Steamboat Springs where they use just one Turtlebox at each lift, and the sound is incredible.

Amazing how much better they sound than the Jensen 6x9's I had in the back of my '77 Camaro.

I currently have two Gen 2's I received on warranty replacement for a pair of Gen 1's where one battery died. Warranty service was a bit slow, but I was pleasantly surprised they gave me two new ones.

I'm (pleasantly) surprised you got two new ones under a warranty. My Gen 1 has a battery issue (just doesn't last as long as it should, otherwise is fine, so I leave it in the garage and the Gen 2 goes with me)...they would not provide any relief other than give me a discount on a new one.

I met the guys that started the company at iCast several years ago. Like many of us, they got tired of trashing blue tooth speakers while using them on fishing and hunting trips. Unlike most of us, they decided to "build a better mousetrap". Good for them!

I’ve had a Turtlebox for about 5 years. I bought it instead of having a stereo and speakers installed on my new skiff I was having built. They were about $300 back then and that was 3 times less expensive and about 3 times less weight than the stereo that was in my old skiff. We’ve got three TB’s now, 1 gen 1 and 2 gen 2’s. As it turns out, we our Turtleboxes everywhere.

I love mine! Decided to opt for one instead of a stereo package for the skiff. It is plenty loud enough to hear even while running on plane. But I will say the sound is directional. So I found the best location for it is on the bow pointed back. It’s heavy enough that it rides right there unless I’m crossing a boat wake in the ICW. For the new skiff I’m thinking about getting cooler straps for it.

I've had an otterbox for a year or so now and love it. A friend picked up a uboom x and really made me feel like I overspent. It's much cleaner, louder, and has a lot more features. Could have almost bought 3 of them for what I paid too.

Music on the skiff is just one of those things we are all going to have to agree to disagree. To each his own. I personally like it. I NEVER listen to music while actively fishing for gamefish. But, sandbars, chumming with kids, snorkeling, cruising with family, on the way back to ramp after a long day, on the long idle in at Blackpoint, I'm glad I have it. Funny, when I'm cleaning the boat, I use my Turtlebox 🤣

I love mine. But was disappointed you can only pair two. So that’s great news they are changing that!

also surprised that no one has made mounts for them. Seems like enough people have them on their skiffs and airboats that a company would sell a under the casting platform mount

Just put the TurtleBox on the charger for the first time since new. The battery lasted for roughly 24 hours until the last LED started blinking, still had some play time left. This was all at around a 1/4 volume on my phone, and I measured it around 60-70 decibels. Happy with the run time and should be plenty for a full weekend trip without having to worry about charging it.

Heard 2 grande’s on the East Cape 25 Open while sea trailing it at MIBS. I’m going to skip the stereo system and put in 4/5 grandes instead…
