I'm guessing 5' is going to be too long, but the new Bull Pup from Bull Bay Rods is awesome. I fished all day with it during Super Lure and was able to cast just as far with it as I could my 7'6" Bolt. I know they make a 3-piece in the Banshee line of rods.

Do you think the Bull Bay Bull Pro would be a good shorter MHF Tod to put with a Shimano Stradic 4000XG for peacock bass in the Amazon? Will it handle 50lb power pro braid? Try a find a good shorter spinning rod for my wife for a trip on the Rio Negr0.

That might be overkill for that rod...in terms of the line. I'd try to find a 6'6" MH or Heavy with the 4000 reel. Those peacocks down in the jungle are tackle busters. You don't want to bring a knife to a gun fight.
