I've been lurking for a while, but now I'm official. My question, if you have a second, is can I find a skiff with a trailer width of less than 8 feet? My side yard has a gate that gives an opening of 8.5 feet. I contacted Ankona and they said their wheel wells are less than that. I am sure Gheenoe is skinnier than 8.5 feet. I'm looking for any others, to weigh options.

Welcome to the team! Most newer boat trailers are going to be pretty wide, as the modern style skiff trailer the boat sits down between the fenders, so the boat can sit lower. This makes for easier trailering, as well as making launching, and loading easier, and keeps you from having to submerge as much of the trailer (Big Advantage in salt water). Alot of older trailers the boat sits above the wheels which allows for a narrower trail. If needed you could always sell the newer trailer in favor of an older style in which case you would probably make out ahead on that deal. That being said 8.5' is a very wide opening for a trailer. Understand that most Heavy Equipment trailers are 96" wide, and your gate opening 102" is as wide as a trailer can legally be before being classified as oversized load. I cant think of any skiff trailer that would reach that width.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for that. That is a great option, and I did not know about trailer styles.
