Can galvanized trailer fenders be polished? If so, what is the process? If they can't, what type of fenders can get that shine?

Those fenders are available in aluminum or stainless. As far as polishing the galvanized ones that's a no go.

I bought new aluminum diamond plate fenders from Boat Master in Fort Myers that are shiny. They custom fitted and installed for like $100 total if I remember correctly.

They are great for climbing in/out of the boat. Wouldn't (couldn't) do that with the smooth ones, unless they had non-skid tape added.
