I have a Faria Beede tachometer that I'm trying to use with my new Tohatsu mfs 60.

I have it set on 4 poles, with the + signal wire from the harness tied to the tach. I did not use the negative signal wire. Tohatsu support verified that 4 poles was the correct setting.

I am getting only 2500 rpm on the tach but getting 30mph with the stock 13 pitch prop. Mathematically, this doesn't seem possible.
Any help would be appreciated.
I have not been able to get faria beede support on the phone, and I'm trying to avoid buying a Tohatsu tach, as it would not match the other gauges in the dash.

Ok, plot twist again.

Per tohatsu support, Rev limit is 6200 rpm. It's beeping if I back off the trim tabs and let the bow bounce a little at WOT while underway, this is telling me I'm hitting the rev limit.

Faria answered today (couldnt get them to answer or return calls before, must have been thanksgiving.), 4 poles is actually setting one on the tach. I will set it there for the next trip, expected to be 12/11 weather permitting.

With that understood, the 13 pitch prop is obviously not enough.
I'm leaning powertech SRD 15 or 16 after some research. 5 to 7 week lead time.
