I really have no idea, I doubt many come up for sale all that often these days as it's an older rod so probably not a lot of comps. If I had to guess, I'd say $200-300 given that it's now "old technology" and may effectively be disposable (given the non-warranty repair cost* compared to the repaired value), but as I said that's purely a guess. Perhaps the right buyer, someone wanting to relive his youth/past, would pay more given the condition.

*T&T's site says they can repair rods dated back to 1994. Not sure exactly when the Horizon was made though. Perhaps call T&T to check.

That was my first saltwater 9wt. Bought it in early 2000s for a Harkers Island trip for false Albies. Not as fast as the 10wt RPL+ I had before, but good power for a slower stick. I got rid of them over the years as technology improved, but still maybe have a e piece 7wt and a 3 piece 10wt. I think the bid was high $200s to low $300s at the time I sold the 8 and 9 weights. Far preferred this first horizon to the Horizon II and the dreadful solar and easily broken TNT series that I had after them. Just dumped my 8&9 wt Exocetts and am done with T&T.

Those rods were great. I believe they retailer for about $475. You should get 250 to 300.

Coincidentally, just yesterday I dusted off my 8wt T&T horizon for a little casting in the park with the GF. I’ve only thrown an Orvis Helios 3d for the last couple years.

The T&T was weirdly powerful, slower I guess? But biggest difference to me was how heavy it was compared to the Orvis.

I don’t know, it wasn’t like the Orvis added huge distance to my cast, or reduce false casts tremendously? Maybe I’m too stupid to tell a huge difference.

The T & T is the only rod I’ve had that’s never broken, guides haven’t corroded, and I used so much the cork handle has sort of compressed to fit my hand. As I took it out of the tube & cover, I was so struck with how well made it was.

When I first took up guiding full time in 1996 I built a matched pair of rods to hand my anglers, a 10 and a 12wt, using T&T Horizon blanks. First rate gear back then - and I still have the 10wt - but only use it for myself these days... The last time I asked, T&T said they'd still make a new tip section for that 12wt (or any of those old Horizon rods) - all these years later... Contact them directly for more info.

I know that the fly tackle business is caught up in that "new and improved" mindset - but those two rods would still be my personal favorites - for actual fishing day after day... Of course I'd still be buying and using those old Sage RPL+ rods - if they still made them as well... Guess I've turned into a dinosaur...

I still fish this 9wt and have a few other horizons that stay in heavy rotation. It is a bit slower but powerful, just what I like for sinking lines. Not as extreme as the T&T Exocet SS which is their special sinking line rod. Great all around taper, a lost art of design IMO with all the shootouts and weighing rods on scales for sales

Now with shortages and inflation they’re asking $250-300, but they’re not selling as readily.

I did have mine repaired just this past year, expensive, but I wasn’t happy with current choices for a similar action all-around rod.

First fly rods I bought myself back in '98 - I still have a 7 & 10 I fish with on occasion. Is yours a 2 or 4 piece?

Someone posted a link last year with old fly tackle for sale - decent number of horizons on there if you want to find some comps.
