I am in discussion with a gentleman that has one of the used Vantages for sale that is no where near where I live in Tampa Bay. I have never been on one, and before I waste the sellers time, I was curios if there was someone in the Tampa Bay Area that would take me for a quick ride to see how the boat performs. I am happy to compensate for this....Bourbon, Beer, or Cash name your pleasure.

The majority of my use will be beach tarpon.

Any other input from people who have experience on these boats would also be welcome.

If you cant get a ride locally we are more than willing to help you. You just have to come up to the shop. We'd like nothing more than for you to join the EC family!

I HIGHLY encourage you to go to ECC. You'll get to see the shop and all that goes into making a great skiff. And their customer service AFTER the sale is the best. Shoot its not more than an hour or so from Tampa.

Now I am biased and I will state that upfront. But I have tarpon fished for, well lets just say, a few years. And I have been on tons of different skiffs. Lots of great boats out there but I honestly don't think there are any better tarpon skiffs than a Vantage.

I make the trip to Orlando with some frequency so the trip time does not deter me. It does seem that they keep a good rapport with their customers and owners, as evidenced by all the repeat buyers. I am hopeful this skiff does what I think it will do!

You will find Kevin and the folks over at East Cape to be first class. I bought my Vantage VHP lightly used and Kevin treated me like I bought a brand new one from him any time I called or texted. I am selling mine for now but am sure i will be in another EC skiff in a couple years

I don’t have a vantage but I have spent probably 50-60 days fishing beach/Oceanside tarpon with my buddy on his. My opinion is that they are excellent for that!!

Ran both types of the vantage for several years in Tampa Bay and Charlotte Harbor. Fly, bait, artificial, tarpon fishing in all different situations. You name it, pretty much did it with the boat, feel free to pm me with any questions.

Thank you Lappy_16! I went up Saturday and came back with the boat. Ran it yesterday a good but am very impressed so far! I appreciate the offer for the info!
