The HP rating makes me think it's worth checking out for someone in the area

No possibility.

Ad reads
transom can hold up to a 15 horse,  Doesn't say it's Rated for a 15

15-9 lowsider Ghenoe.

Back then they measured down the rail and not tip to tip, so thats why they were considered a 15'9 not a 15'4 (todays standard 15'4 HS). Classic's a 15'6.

15' 4", 15' 6", 15' 9"................

wasn't what I was getting at.

Lots of people who own gheenoes don't even know what they have.

When the ad says it can hold a 15 in my book it's worth a call or if it's nearby a drive over. The classics were rated 15 tiller and 25 remote.

Usually it turns out to be the other way around (advertising classic but really have a hi-sider) but you never know.

I agree with you about advertising classic but really have a hi-sider, gut when they advertising "15-9 lowsider Ghenoe " I would bet they knew what they had.

I have a classic and the "official" Florida title shows it as 15' 4".

So what can you say but confusion reigns supreme.
