I had for some time been looking for something to use as a mother ship, had considered everything from a pontoon boat to a a huge Carolina Skiff. With my new neighbor - "Bonefish Custom Boats" moving in next door and seeing boats come and go a particular hull got my attention and started me thinking about it's use as a mother ship. I wanted something that was versatile and still maintain my roots with the simple tiller skiff. I was looking for something that could be used to haul kayaks and gear to remote areas, fishable inshore and functional as a "family" boat. After going over details with Chis @ Bonefish, I think we have a new twist on a proven hull design. I will post pics of the build and throughout the process. This is a "work in progress" thread and I will try to post as major progress takes place. The mold is getting gelcoat now and I'll add pics when they start laying glass later today. I always wanted to watch my boat being built so this is a real treat for me. Enjoy: (pics to follow)
get a few good whiffs of the fumes while yer watching and you can lay off the beer and vodka for a few days.
Why not keep drinking and just enhance the buzz? Looking forward to the report, I'm considering selling my center console and getting a big skiff.
I'll have a styrene and stoli please. Oh, wait, is this the right thread? Mothership? Yep, right place... Beam me up CaptRon, There's no intelligent life here. I had my Illudium Pu-36 Explosive Space Modulator around here somewhere...
Vent the work space Brett.... Can't wait to see the pics Captn. Always wanted to see one built as well.
Didn't get as far along today as we had hoped. Bonefish experienced a deficit when an employee's friend passed today and I ended up helping roll out my hull. Hope to have pics of it in the mold tomorrow.
So I see Bonefish Boats complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act.....Should change the name to Bonehead Boats. ;D
Your correct, it will be anything but tippy. As far as the performance parts. Think of it more as a small aircraft carrier.
You're going with a red hull? Aggressive! ;D Ah I'm kidding, that is a pure white right? What's the estimated draft?
Allright...google...aircraft carrier top speed...WOW! 30 Knots! That'll get you there on time...even fully loaded!
He's going to employ RJ's experience as a powerplant engineer. Imagine that for a second............ [smiley=badidea.gif]
