I have some time off work this week so I figured I would finally replace the busted swivel bracket on my 25.

The more I look at this job the more it looks like it's going to be heater core of the outboard world. I may be wrong here but it looks like the power head and lower unit have to come off. Also the lower motor mount is pressed on, so it should be fun trying to get that off. It was broken when I got the boat over a year ago so its been put off long enough.

Has anyone does this job in their garage? If so, how in much in the world did it suck? Are their any tricks to getting the power head out without removing the carbs?

It sucks and yes it ALL has to come apart. Remember where each and every plastic washer and bushing goes and in what order. And grease everything upon re eassembly
