I'm about to rebuilt the water pump in my 2017 Suzuki 60 for the first time. I've done my Mercury 225, Yamaha 40 and 25 several times. I was just wondering if there is anything I should be aware of? Specifically, how does the shift rod disconnect. Do I just unscrew it at the top of the lower unit? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the info. I was able to figure it out on my own. One thing I did different/extra. I used a black Sharpie to mark one of the flats on shift rod locking nut. That way I was assured, I got it back in its original position.
