SUZUKI MARINE POWERS 4-WARD WITH COMPACT NEW 60 HORSEPOWER 4-STROKE FOR 2010,
RAISES THE BAR FOR LIGHTWEIGHT PERFORMANCE

Second Generation Suzuki DF60 Designed to be Lightest, Most Powerful and Fuel Efficient in Its Class

February 12, 2009 (MIAMI, FL) — With the preview of its new 2010 DF60 4-stroke outboard kicking off today’s 2009 Miami International Boat Show, Suzuki Marine has proven that less can be more — at least when it comes to advanced 4-stroke outboard performance.

This streamlined and powerful new 60 horsepower 4-stroke is more advanced and more fuel efficient,
with its target weight expected to be far less than many competitive models.  Smaller, lighter and more efficient than other 4-strokes in its class, the new Suzuki DF60 will still pack a solid punch and will be an ideal fit for
a wide variety of boats — from pontoons and aluminum fishing boats to large inflatables and inshore
    center consoles.

“Our engineers are constantly exploring new technologies to discover ways that we can make our outboards even better,” says Larry Vandiver, Marketing Director for Suzuki Marine.  “This new DF60 is a perfect example of Suzuki’s commitment to developing new generation outboards that aren’t only better than the competition, but leaner, meaner and stronger than our first generation 4-strokes.  Over the past decade, we’ve built a reputation for 4-strokes that deliver the fuel efficiency, clean operation and reliability boaters expect, combined with surprising performance.  Our new generation 4-stroke outboards — the DF 70, 80, 90, and soon to include the new DF60 — will keep this reputation alive and keep Suzuki ahead of the pack.”

Always a central focus in the design of any Suzuki motor, fuel efficiency is further enhanced by Suzuki’s new Lean Burn Technology, a feature that predicts fuel needs according to operating conditions and allows the engine to operate on a very lean air/fuel ratio.  The new Suzuki DF60 is expected to provide the perfect balance of efficient operation and top-end performance on a wide range of hull sizes and styles.
