Stealthy Non Slip Push Pole Clip Trick

Had some of this cheap Amazon Chinese foam that gives you foot cancer laying around. And cut some strips to go inside my clips. Not only does it hold like a MOFO. But you can put your pole away without making a sound. I actually have my clips almost in a straight line with no curve. And you literally can’t make it slide through the clips. If I need to adjust the pole position. I have to take it out of the clips to reposition.Every other setup I have had in the last twenty years. I could just slide my pole back and forth on the fly. I had them on now for over a year and still going strong. And no worries about it popping out. I don’t ever bother to put the straps on. So no running back to get that bungee you forgot about. Thought I would share if someone was interested

Interesting I have the V-marines and they feel really solid. Maybe I’ll check it out.

I did something similar with my Anytide/Shallow Water Solutions push pole holders and ovals of SBT foam sheet. Works like a champ!

h they are great. This just makes em even better 👍🏻
1/16 cork works great, never wears out. It lines the curve perfectly and looks as good as a Tibor drag!

My buddy has this and it is super grippy.
Tried adjusting the pole in bad wavy conditions and almost tore my rotator cuff to pieces.

I like to move my pole around fore and aft, when running or around docks or fighting fish. This makes that harder, no? I like the silent loading for sure.

Its almost impossible without totally unclipping the pole.

I think I will need to do something like this anyway in moving from a hybrid to an extreme....

@jonny how do you like the V-Marine classics? Thinking about using them on my new skiff.

I really like em a bit of a improvement over the old Stiffy ones. I run all three even though I fly fish a good bit. I have never got hung up on them yet. But I’m sure I will at some point. I have been known to wrap on just about everything on a windy day

Just search on Amazon it’s the cheapest crap they offer. I think it’s like $60 for a 4x8. I have had two customers use it now. Seems to holding up okay. It will stain and fade a little. But so do some of the really expensive stuff as well. Definitely feels better than fiberglass or aluminum. Just wear shoes so you don’t get foot cancer 😂

Pretty nifty use for the foam, I like it!
My Accon PP holders hold just fine plus I’m not putting anything on my pole that might give it cancer

I used some left over sea deck I had. Works really well.

Guess you could use this on a Tibor push pole caddy as well.

My Ankona Shadowcast came with some foam/rubber on the push pole holder and it worked very well. Fit tight and were quiet. I never needed a bungee either.
I also used left over Sea Deck and it holds the Stiffy Extreme very well.
