Went out to explore and see if some of my spots had any fish since I had not been out in almost two weeks. Went to a spot where I knew a school of drum were and ended up landing one small red. Then went to my second spot of the trip and killed it. In this one spot alone I ended up with 4 drum (3 puppies and one 26.5"), 4 flounder (one 15.5"), 3 small trout, and 1 bluefish. I caught them on all kinds of soft plastics (paddle tails, split tails, DOAs, Gulp, Zman). I caught all of the fish in less than 2 hours. I don't normally keep fish but I decided to keep some fish for dinner.

90% of the folks I see are casting gulp baits on a poppin cork. Change it up.
Top water is where it’s at . Try any / all poppin top water baits. I do well with a pop R. Furry tail. Caught a boat full on
Suspended baits as well ( I like yozuri crank baits ) Don’t forget ,red drum Are also called channel bass. They Fish the same as fresh water bass ,more than you think.work the shadows , I have caught them on everything but a purple worm. No bait casters on board unless I am Striper fishing

Went out this morning for an hour and a half before light to about 7AM and threw 5 different topwater and a gold spoon at a bay holding a nice school. Had 4 follows one small blue swipe and miss but no blow ups. Threw silver and black, orange and black, bone, speckled trout, and purple and white. I never throw popping corks. I also never use bait.
