I purchased it from a builder in Mississippi. This particular hull has only had a test run with a 5hp engine. It performed very nicely with very few hp, as it was designed to do.

Yes you probably could mount a much larger motor. The USCG ratings have to do with sealed floatation, not the strength of the transom and such. I think a 9.9 would be perfect on this thing.
