I’m hoping to have my skimmer 14.6 built in the coming weeks and will drive from North Carolina to Florida to pick it up

the boat will stay on a lift on my dock, so I won’t need a trailer for daily transportation. I would like to pick up a cheap trailer to keep on hand when I must remove the boat due to storms.

I currently have a 21 for Carolina skiff on a trailer, so my question is ...

Could I bring my big trailer to pick up the new skiff? Any issues you see with transporting a smaller boat on a trailer set up for a larger boat? I would think that as long as it is tied down from the bow and stern, there shouldn’t be any issues.
Any thoughts or suggestions on how I can get my boat from Florida to nc without purchasing a road worthy trailer?

I would think that as long as it is tied down it would be good as well as supporting the hull sufficiently some big blocks of styrofoam would probably do the trick not sure what the deadrise is on the skimmer.

Boats are transported all the time with trailers that don't fit perfectly.

Strap it down and not with those 1 inch straps.
