I am considering selling my pathfinder 17t and moving into something a bit smaller been looking at IPBs or skimmer skiffs anything else I should look out for? Nothing wrong with my boat now it's just a bit bigger than I would like right now and not to mention the terrible mpg on my truck anyways, I live in Orlando and a drive to mosquito lagoon which is about 150-mile round trip Ill burn over 2/3s of a tank

Had a skimmer skiff 14. Good skiff but got rid of it because it was too small. Towing any kind of trailer I get 13-14 mpg in my 4Runner. I’d rather waste a little more gas to be in my more comfortable Beavertail than my tiny skimmer

I hear what your saying about down sizing but really the 17 T shouldnt be much to pull ,unless your full of water? Are the trailer tires bagging ? Is the tongue weight heavy ? You should be able to lift it by hand pretty easy .....just asking cause the 17 T is Famous for Delamination! Not just the stringers from deck, But the Cap from main Hull ,you could have water soaked foam adding a LOT Of Weight ....does it still drain water after a day or so ? Thats a sign...

Also on your tow vehicle, A Lot of people Dont Realize your tires will lose two or three pounds of pressure in a 6 month time ,this is normal, but it adds rolling Resistance 👍 so check the truck and trailer pressure .....specially in winter !
