The 2nd Fly Fishing and Rod Building Fair at Renzetti’s is almost here! The Renzetti’s have assembled a most prestigious list of experts from the fly fishing world. Here is the information about the weekend, we hope you can join us..

On the evening of Friday, December 5th, the Renzetti’s will host a fundraising cocktail party benefitting Casting for Recovery, a national program for breast cancer survivors, and the Kid’s Fishing Clinic held each June at Port Canaveral for hundreds of children. The party will be at the La Cita Country Club in Titusville and all of our special guest speakers for the main event on Saturday will be on hand to meet-and-greet. The cost for this special benefit is $75 a person and reservations are required. Call 321 267 7705. Wanda Taylor from casting for Recovery will join us also.

The Main Event: On Saturday, December 6th, Renzetti’s manufacturing facility at the Spaceport Florida Industrial Complex (8800 Grissom Parkway, Titusville) will be open to the public from 9am until 4pm to play host to the 2nd Fly Fishing and Rod Building Fair @ Renzetti’s. Admission is a $5 donation benefitting Casting for Recovery and the Kid’s Fishing Clinic.

The day’s program includes seminars and demonstrations of all aspects of fly-fishing, from rod building and fly tying, casting instruction and book signings, to factory tours. More specifically, you’ll be able to watch Bob Clouser, Bob Popovics, Jon Cave and Andy Sneddon tie flies, including their own signature patterns like the Deep Minnow, the Surf Candy and the Wobbler. Guide and author Pat Ehlers will talk about catching smallmouth bass on fly, while writers Ken Hanley and Jay Murakoshi will talk about bass fishing techniques for any situation. Local guides Troy Perez will discuss fly fishing in the Mosquito Lagoon and Eric Davis will talk about chasing tarpon in the Sebastian River. David Olsen from Miami Fly Shop will discuss fly-fishing Florida’s surf.

For those interested in rod building, Jim Upton and Dennis Papika will explain basic techniques, while John Stumpe will demonstrate more advanced skills like spiral rod wrapping. Also, Mike Brook will share his expertise in designing an efficient rod building room.

To round out the day, several artists will be on hand, including by J.E. Fitzpatrick, Peter Renzetti and Harley Schmude, and there will also be a Q&A with local guides at noon. Don’t forget to stop by the TFO booth to see Lefty Kreh.

Flip Pallot, Chico Fernandez, Scott Sommerlatte will be on hand at the Hells Bay Boatworks booth, throughout the day for book signings. Flip will have limited copies of his hard to find book “Mangrove Memories” and his new book “All the Best” on the life of Lefty Krey to sign.

A silent auction will be held and highlighted items include a TFO-CFR Rod Outfit including rod, reel, fly line and a signed hat by Lefty Kreh, donated by TFO; a work of art by Harley Schmude; and a custom 9-foot 8-weight 4-piece XMG50 fly rod with TiCh snake guides, Titanium Titan Ring lock guides, a Struble reel seat, feather inlay and more, donated by Andy Snedden and Lamiglass.

We will also be selling raffle tickets throughout the day for a host of great products with all proceeds benefitting our chosen charities. There are still a few openings for the special One-Day Fly Fishing Clinic hosted by Bob Clouser, Bob Popovics and Jon Cave on Friday, December 5th. This hands-on class will run from 8:30am until 4pm and is limited to only 15 participants. The fee is $300 a person to cover the cost and expenses of the clinic and pre-registration is required.
