(Biased) I've heard EC call the Fury a Swiss army knife. It's true. I'm in Jax and everytime I think about selling it again...I take her out one last time, see an eat on the edge of an oyster bar, troll or pole over there and boom - 26" redfish cutting circles around the boat. ...Nevermind, I'll hang onto her a bit longer...
It's a sweet layout. I don't have a ton of experience on flats boats, but some, and I just can't seem to part with it; even though I would probably make a few bucks on it. I probably will one day, to step up to something bigger, but in an ideal world - I keep it AND have something bigger for jax big water runs, the jetties and beach poons....and for running under those damn ICW bridges when the tide is ripping and the water is churning.
One of my favorite things about the Fury is the little coffin box storage just forward of the cockpit, most boats don't have that little storage box, just the large bow storage. It's uber convenient for all the small things while you're out. The bilge isn't the most accessible, which is only annoying when you need to get in there, but the only thing in there is the bilge pump.
You just feel good running the Fury, and it feels like a boat that grandpa would be in heaven on if you had the chance to take him out on it.
Good luck on the hunt.
