Problem with epoxy pumps

2055 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  oysterbreath
I went to mix a little epoxy today and the pump for the hardener is not giving a full stroke. Every other pump is fine, but the rest are "spits". Looks like I'll be picking up a small digital scale to measure the weights of the epoxy and hardener from now on. Does anyone know the weights of the two, or the ratio's? I'm using West Systems 105 epoxy and 206 hardener.

I use the pumps. Got mine at west marine and I've had no issue with them but me being me...I pump into cups then mix. They do seem to be accurate though. I get my cups at the dollar store. I also buy the plastic bowls. Those are good for mixing thickened epoxy (peanut butter thickness) because mixing thick epoxy in the cups causes them to collapse. I also use dollar store measuring cups.
