Anyone have a portable speaker they would recommend for the boat that is loud enough to hear while on plane?

I’m not going to mount speakers in the skiff just considering something to take every once in a while on those sandbar days with the fam.

I have a wonderboom 2. I actually found it washing up on the beach while doing a weekend trash pick up with the kids. It had stuff growing on it so you could tell it had been floating for a bit. Took it home and plugged it in, works good and the sound doesn’t get distorted when you crank it up. I’d say it’s pretty waterproof too. If it craps out I’ll be getting another one.

I purchased some JL speakers and a Simrad black box audio amp thing. Returned it shortly after arrival. Black box seemed tempermemtal while testing in the shop. And ended up not even having the room to mount the speakers anywhere not plain stupid.

This Turtle Box seems pretty cool. Thanks for the suggestion! Trying to find something besides the white one in stock!

I had one of those JBL waterproof ones that are cylinder shaped and they were good but can not hear on plane. I got the turtlebox about a month ago and it is excellent, very loud, has rubber feet on bottom and on its back so you can lay it down in the cockpit or for non fishing days I cam strap it to the casting platform facing us and it is easy to hear on plane.

The larger JBL works OK but the Turtlebox is a step above

I am definitely a silence guy myself, but I have some JBL Audio Flip speakers that I bought on deployment. They pack a punch for size, are affordable, are IPX7 waterproof, have a long battery life, and they also have a feature where if you have multiple, you can daisy chain them to be playing the same things in unison without delay (think of like a cookout or party or whatever). Pretty solid all in all. https://www.amazon.com/JBL-Waterpro...eaker/dp/B07QK3LK56/ref=sr_1_omk_4?keywords=jbl+flip&qid=1650738161&sr=8-4&th=1 There are multiple sizes, versions, or colors.
