i have a 15' johnsen skiff with a 25hp johnson. so i was out in the lagoon trying to make a short cut to get to the flat i wanted to fish. i hit bottom, lifted the motor and started to pole the rest of the way till i got to the flat where it is deeper. now i am poling in the deepest cut and im in 6" of water. as i am poling 3 boats fly past me that are larger and more horsepower. it was kinda embarassing, i have had my gheenoe forever and just got this johnsen to have a lil more room with same draft. yet i cant run as shallow as these bigger bay and flats boats?? are these boats just equipped with every doo-dad to get them running shallow like the pocket drive and cupped props. i know they are tearing up the grass and obviously dont care about their lower units but damn how do they do it???
