Photo assignment

    This week I had an assignment called "Isolating the Subject" where I used the F stop to create a shallow depth of field to separate the bell from the distracting background. Nothing complicated. Whatcha think?

    Looks like ya got it all right! I can see how back the background could have been.

    I have an American LaFrance bell, but it's not nearly so fancy (or hard to polish). Good shot.

    Looks great!
    If it is possible, one suggestion would be to step to your left a bit so that the chair in the back ground does not "grow" out of the bell. Move to where there is no "lines" entering or exiting the bell. This goes back to the other post that I had put up about things growing out of people. This will make the bell stand out alone even more.
    Simple thing, but hell to remember all the time :(

    It might let someone give you a some pointers to improve your photos. Pretty standard on all photography forum posts.
