Coming from the kayak fishing world, I have had my pelican case and dslr go overboard more times than I can count in my fingers and toes and never had a problem.

What is important to remember is to periodically remove the gasket from the case and let it expand. It gets compressed after a while and will fail unless you take it out from time to time and let it re-expand.

send it back with $10 and they will send you a brand new one, no questions asked. I sent back a 10-15 year old case and now I have a brand new one. Fast turn around too.
