I think I’ve figured out why it was running hot… also closed up a water tube leak that was flooding the exhaust pipe. Runs 10000000x better now.
Cool project. Looks fishy!Painted the rub rails and riveted them in place, patched, painted and mounted the nose cap. Wired the front lights and pulled the wire to the stern. Putting the motor back together tonight. Still need to finish up the access hatches and patch in the rod holders. DMV appointment on Friday to get it registered. If I can get the motor going I may get to take it out for a test run this weekend if the weather cooperates View attachment 199148
Always fun to get a new project underway! Thanks. It’s been fun and I’ve learned a ton so far. Already planning the next build
Haven’t had a ton of time to work on my punch list. Ended up doing a complete backyard tear out and remodel that sucked up several weekends. Did manage to get a few hours with one of my fighting on the water and christened the boat with a few decent jacks and some lady fish. Not what I was shooting for but still a blast to catch. Three of the jacks were caught on a 5wt fly rod and really put up a fight.
Too tall, maybe you could turn it around so that your not hanging way out past the transom? For $100, you can “customize “ it without too much trouble! Can’t decide. Too big? Found it for $100 on marketplace and could t pass it up. View attachment 202529
