Best way to attach decks to skiff with rolled edges, does anyone have any photos of the process and or maybe diagrams? Should it be attached on top to allow room for a rub rail or should I make it flush with rolled edge? Actually now that I think about it how do I attach the Gunnel? I'm new at this never done it before but I learn fast! I already have access to good supplier of fiberglass products and stuff. Just looking for some guidance really! Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to help.

I prefer to drop the deck below gunnel level on a rolled edge skiff.
That way the gunnel becomes a toe rail and if you set something on deck
it stays on deck and doesn't slide/roll overboard. Easy enough to rough out
a "one off" mold to lay up a "drop in" deck like is done with gheenoes.

How are they attached? Do I epoxy blocks to the hull then lay the deck on them? And is epoxy the way to go?

What does your rolled gunnel look like, and what does the deck look like?

Is it an existing deck or a one-off flat deck?

I don't think there is a best way. But I do like to glass the inside of my deck to hull connection. makes for a good uniform piece when its done. Hard to do on some skiffs tho.
