Mountain Skiff fishing

So I decided to bring my skiff to Montana so I can refit it as pretty much nothing is working on it at this moment. Getting a lot of interesting looks from the fly guys here! Anybody else here have a skiff set up thats not coastal?

Notice my custom cedar top on the poling platform as mine blew off going down the highway:(

My original plan was to leave it in Florida and travel back and forth. But....

I put 56 days on it since I bought it on December 1, now the powerpole circuitboard doesn't work, trolling motor completely unresponsive, missing the top to my poling platform(which also took my stiffy clip), and my motors on limp mode. Time to get to work lol.

lol Of course. its gone two nights of those without being washed as I couldn't find anywhere but besides that yes and I also had the motor serviced by a Yamaha tech after I put 70 hours on it 15 hours ago.

Im not sure how they normally attach those poling platform tops, but it has a few integrated screws that just stripped. I was going 55 mph up from Marathon a ways.

I don't know what to say about the powerpole, its just the remote not working. Got a new remote, still doesn't work.

Trolling motor is probably the plug and wiring as I was posted up in some pretty nasty wind and it definitely got wet.

Im also a sh!t boat owner apparently.

Welcome to skiff ownership! When you use them your crap breaks. Power pole should be easy. Call them. They'll help you trouble shoot if you have a multimeter. Can you operate from the cap? Probably just a cap or circuit board. I've been through 4 caps and 3 circuit boards...Marinco Trolling motor plugs just plain suck. You are probably full of nasty greenish gunk. Either hardwire it or get a Battery Tender plug. Now the poling platform, that I haven't broke yet. Good luck

The cap works fine. Where is the circuitboard?

Yeah I think Im going to either lose the trolling motor altogether or hardwire. It makes me feel better about being 40 miles in the everglades if I have 2 motors.

thanks for the tips
If you go to "Henry's Lake for gulpers" you are going to find out real quick that you are in the wrong place by about 20 miles.....lol

Hebgen Lake is the land of gulpers and I have used my skiff up there for that very purpose. Now here's the bad news. I found it not a good platform for chasing gulpers. While I could see great I also found that they were seeing the guy on the platform and we couldn't get anywhere near them. Ok as long as nobody was standing up on the poling platform.

Now where they shine up there is sight fishing for carp!!!
Ha yeah, nice catch. I’ve never even been fishing at Henry’s Lake. To lazy to get a ID license. Not that I fish Hebgen much either. Last time I fished for gulpers I just wade fished and they were pretty picky. Everyone tells me I should go Carpin with it. Definitely will.

Uscrew the cap (4 screws) and the circuit board os mounted vertically where power wires come into unit. You can test voltage in at that point t make sure you are getting adequate voltage. It is plug and play if it needs to be replaced. Like I said, call the guys at Powerpole and they will get you started trouble shooting
Hell seems to me your doing great!. Most guys have boat problems because they don't use them. At least your fishing the crap out of it.

I'm considering a move to the mountain west and I will 100% bring my 17T. If nothing else, it will make a nice conversation piece on the water.

I saw a dude at crystal river back in march rowing a Hyde around some oyster bars.
