I have an external 6 gallon Moeller gas tank on my Gheenoe LT25. The float on the arm of the built in fuel gauge does not float well and therefore the fuel gauge says empty when the tank is full. I called Moeller and they sent me a new one, but this one doesn't float either. It is made of a very dense, black,  plastic-like material. Has anyone else had this problem and can suggest a replacement float that will stand up to gasoline?

Possibly replace the fill cap with the combo vent-gauge cap?

I put a Marpac sender in mine and it's been working fine for two years now.
