My hand controlled 46lb minn Kota unit is about out the door and I would like to upgrade to a iPilot 55lb 12v. Only reason why I would go this route is for spot lock only. Other then that I would just get a hand operated unit.

Due to almost having to take a mortgage out to get one, does anyone have any intel to share on if anywhere is running any sales or see any lightly used ones floating around online?

Thanks!

Just bought a 24v Terrova without the slightest price break (and I’m in my 24th year as full time guide...).

The best I found anywhere was actually on E-Bay -and out of state... Very pleased with every part of the transaction (the same goes for the PowerMania onboard charger and the Battery Tender power plug-in (also the Mk quick change mount). Everything right to my door and mostly quicker shipping than advertised... from four different vendors. Very pleased ... didn’t have the slightest problem.

Every once in a while you can get the "coupon codes" for Overstock.com to work on Minn Kota trolling motors. I know it sounds crazy- but Overstock.com carries trolling motors and more specifically the iPilot. i bought a 12v/55lb MinnKota iPilot from Overstock about 1 year ago and was able to apply a 15% code. A lot of the Overstock discounts do not apply to Minn Kota items- but if you keep trying like I did-- maybe you will find one that works.

I have 12 volt 55lb I pilot on my Cayenne. It does just fine, I love the spot lock. I use intermittently all morning and dont drain too far...get it, you'll love it. I waited for a west marine sale and got 20% off

Thanks for the intel all!!

I am just a weekend warrior that enjoys some of the fancy things. I might not use it much but it’s a nice feature to have and can think of a few instances where I could use it. I also don’t deal a lot with current so that’s not too much of an issue. Thanks!

is a 12v with spot lock even worth it? I mean how long can you actually stay on the same spot without running the battery dead?
I have the 12v ipilot and the spot lock works great. I've never even come close to draining the battery on it, but we don't typically get to fish more than 4 hrs at a time due to the tides.
