Does anybody know if I remove the cracked/leaking built-in fuel tank under the cowling will the engine still run off the external tank?

It seems like when I squeeze the ball fuel is pushed up through the fuel line and enters the built-in fuel tank (you can see it enter the top and fill the tank up) so I am thinking there may not be a fuel pump in the outboard and the fuel comes directly from the tank and gravity fed to the motor?

I have one of these motors just run a new fuel line from the external hose connector to the inlet of the fuel pump ... you will be good to go ...
