Thank you Ive looked at these but wasn’t sure on how the wood in the construction would handle ?
You would need to inspect the boat to make sure it was built well, but with modern epoxies wood is a very viable construction medium, it's light and strong and, if you keep the water away, lasts a very long time.

Think of it this way, that skiff with the aluminum trailer is priced around $2,000. You could run that thing for a few years and walk away from it and be way ahead of the depreciation you would suffer had you bought a comparable fiberglass skiff.
