It seems there’s a new trend in false advertising in the skiff market. As if all the sub 6” drafts, false weight claims, spins on a dime, poles with one hand, handles 3’ chop with a bone dry soft ride weren’t enough. Now we have getting on plane in a boat length or less. I swear I just watched a vid of a HB rep. Stating his 2019 Marquesa gets on the PAD in half a boat length. Nine feet in this case. Now giving the big ass 140 Evinrude will get it moving in quick order. That I am sure of. But up on the pad in 9 feet While I have yet to see a manufacturer really prove their claims of draft. Since HB built that temp pool to float the first Whiprays. Since that would require effort and may not give the results they want. But a simple video with a couple of lines for measurement. Would easily prove these claims. Because from my decades of experience with skiffs. I think the majority of these claims are BS. Maybe I am wrong. But I doubt it.
