It seems there’s a new trend in false advertising in the skiff market. As if all the sub 6” drafts, false weight claims, spins on a dime, poles with one hand, handles 3’ chop with a bone dry soft ride weren’t enough. Now we have getting on plane in a boat length or less. I swear I just watched a vid of a HB rep. Stating his 2019 Marquesa gets on the PAD in half a boat length. Nine feet in this case. Now giving the big ass 140 Evinrude will get it moving in quick order. That I am sure of. But up on the pad in 9 feet While I have yet to see a manufacturer really prove their claims of draft. Since HB built that temp pool to float the first Whiprays. Since that would require effort and may not give the results they want. But a simple video with a couple of lines for measurement. Would easily prove these claims. Because from my decades of experience with skiffs. I think the majority of these claims are BS. Maybe I am wrong. But I doubt it.

Not sure about getting on pad in 9’, I have never run that hull. I can promise you my HPX Tunnel will without a doubt get on plane from sitting still in half a boat length with a 250# guy sitting on the front bulkhead. Come down any time and we can try it. That’s what triple cupped three blade holeshot props do on a properly rigged hull and 2 stroke.

A Hell’s Bay full!
^^^LMAO

One notable skiff builder that I happen to be a fan of lists their drafts in a range of a few inches. Seems fair and I have measured my boat and the numbers are spot on for me. I bet most folks haven't actually measured their skiff's draft and would be surprised what they really float in. Static draft fully loaded and light as well as poling draft with full fishing load including people on board and light load. I measured light gear, 16 gal of fuel and no one on board since I was solo. I've been wanting to measure real poling draft but I'm never on the water with 3 people, full fishing load and not going fishing. Heck, I'm almost never on the water with anyone but me on my boat..

Want a drag show, come down to Texas coast and watch this freak show flats boat pissing contest. :)

Just to see if they can hit 90mph in 1 ft of water
No thanks, I like to fish. Those dudes need to take that bullshit somewhere other than the bay. Bunch of #hashtagdouchebags fishing for likes.

That isn’t my boat, was just busting balls on all the trout chasing, chest deep wading bait slingers and croaker soakers that like to destroy flats grass to show how they can run a overpowered race boat to the wading spot. It’s so comical
Hey, hey I love to wade for trout but no bait. Some of the SCB owners are actually very respectful and conservation minded, just a few bad apples ruin the whole basket.
