Didn't want to poison my lawn to kill a fire ant mound.
Runoff would end up in a pond, bad idea. Found this alternative:

Testing underway, follow up report to come.

Oatmeal works too, is one better than the other I couldn't tell you.

Oatmeal needs to be ground into saw dust like texture.

I believe this. If you've ever cooked grits and see a few tablespoons turn into a bowl full, you'd know. Keep us posted, Brett. I'd have to go to the store 'cause I'd NEVER eat instant. Yuk.

I wonder if any killer like Amdro is just instant grits & sugar? It sure costs more than instant grits and suger.

Keep us posted on the results Brett.

    Mowed the lawn this afternoon.
Red ants are still alive and kickin'.
    Guess how I found out?

How do they all know to wait
    until everyone's aboard before stinging?

    Old enough?
I remember when The Wild Wild West was played by Robert Conrad.
And Patrick McGoohan was The Prisoner.

      ;D

Heck, I remember the Buttonwood Canal not being dammed.

there are small examples of nature's incredible intelligence found all around us. They would be wholely ineffective if they jsut bit one by one. But if 100 of them can climb on board before letting loose, they might be able to take down a trophy!

I think I read somewhere that they communicate with chemical signals to coordinate their movements and attacks.

The "sentry's" climb on first, followed by the hoards, and when the sentry's begin, the others pick up the chemical signals.
